All Operators Moving to Hike There Call Rates Soon

Hi Friends India’s leading operators are now following each other in increasing call rates. First they had applied same policy in 2G GPRS plans too. On Wednesday Bharti Airtel announced that they are going to increase call rates due to higher costs. Airtel will cut or no more give some promotional offers like free minutes, free calling vouchers etc. Airtel had just few days ago decreased 2G internet packs in all over the nation.

Idea cellular on same day also declared that there will be hike in call rates due to higher escalating costs. Vodafone also said the call rate hike by airtel and idea is good and it welcome this hike and indicated that Vodafone will also hike call rates.

On this issue Bharti Airtel said that it did not increase headline tariffs but reduced promotional benefits and free minutes offered to customers. It said in a statement that the price change was in line with the increase in its costs.

According to sources Airtel has cut free minutes by 10 to 25 percent price of SPVs has been increased by Rs. to Rs. 15.

All the major telecom operators have started “LOOT” again, and TRAI is just watching this implementation of extra burden of cost on customers. Why TRAI is doing nothing? A big question in the mind of every customer has stuck.

In 2008 when operator where increasing call rates that time Aircel and Docomo had emerged and to stay in competition all the major operators were forced to give lower call rates and more promotional offers. Now again waiting for such happenings revision, will Aircel & Docomo will implement some attracting policies?
